Canned Labeling and Packaging

Salmon Terminals is the largest warehouser and labeler of Alaskan canned salmon in the United States. Since 1918 we have held the reputation as the premium forward warehouse of the canned salmon industry. Although our historical concentration has been labeling and packaging canned salmon, we have the capability to label and package most canned products. We have (6) high speed labeling lines and can handle 'talls', 'halves', 'quarters' and 4# cans in case configurations of 6s, 12s, 24s, and 48s.

Because quality assurance is of utmost importance when taking a

food product to the marketplace, STI installed two Ivis 360 scanning machines to the labeling lines. This technology looks for seam defects by computerized optical scanning methods. [www.carecontrols.com] In addition, the labeling lines have the capacity to checkweigh and dud-detect virtually any size of canned product. You and your customer can be assured that the most up to date screening methods available are being used to maintain the quality of product going to market. Should machine screening reports indicate that special handling or inspection be necessary, we have the experienced employees to do the job.

The warehouse is also available for all types of recovery work and product inspection. If you need to recoup damaged product or look for a tin or labeling defect we have qualified people here for you.

STI will also bundle pack your product for club stores or other special markets. Special shrink wrapping or bundling configurations of side-by-side 2’s, 4’s or 6’s, shrink wrapped in tray cartons, or hand assembly and rainbow packed are a few examples of what we do. Give us a call for your special needs – we will welcome the opportunity!

When dealing with food, inventory control and lot code accountability are required and available. We can provide inventory control at (4) levels: lot, warehouse receipt, pallet and can code. When you look in our warehouse and see over 50 million cans of product and then listen to the concern the staff has about reconciling a one can discrepancy, you understand the pride we have in ourselves and how we keep our reputation as a premium labeling and packaging facility.

In addition to being able to label and package your product, we also have the warehouse space to store your product, both before and after we label it. [Warehouse and distribution] Our full distribution system tracks every code labeled and cased, the specific markings on the case, the specific markings jet inked onto the cans, and the shipments of each code per label. There is also a variety of inventory reports to choose from. The choice to warehouse your inventory at STI will be rewarded for many years to come, as has been the case for many of our long time customers.

STI is also available for all types of recovery work and product inspection. If you need to recoup damaged product or look for a tin or labeling defect we have qualified people to get the job done.
